FLOORS: CHARACTERISTICS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pavimenti-sovrapponibili-introduzione\">STACKABLE FLOORS: INTRODUCTION<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>floors stackable<\/strong> on the existing ones represent an effective solution to be adopted during the renovation phase, if you do not want to remove the existing floor.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When proceeding with the restyling of an apartment, one of the most frequent interventions is precisely the <strong>replacement of the floor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, in the old houses the floor often appears\nobsolete or ruined so, unless it is in fine materials like\nmarble or parquet that deserve to be treated and brought to new life, needs\nto be replaced.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, a floor refurbishment involves the <strong>following steps<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>demolition of the existing floor and often also of the subfloor screed;<\/li><li>unloading and transport to refuse rubble;<\/li><li>remaking of the screed;<\/li><li>finally, installation of the new floor.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sum of the costs of the various processes makes us understand\nimmediately that it is a rather expensive intervention, an expense that is not\nalways able to deal, especially if the surface\nof the apartment is large.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To this inconvenience we must add <strong>further problems<\/strong>, such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>first of all, the long times necessary for the completion of the works;<\/li><li>the nuisance caused by noise and the formation of dust and debris, especially if you live in an apartment building;<\/li><li>the inability to remove the old floor if the property is not owned, but is rented.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hence an stackable floor proves to be the most suitable solution.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cosa-sono\">WHAT THEY ARE?<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stackable floors are in fact those of\nextremely reduced thickness, such that they can be laid on an existing floor.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They exist in <strong>several materials<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ceramic;<\/li><li>wood;<\/li><li>laminate;<\/li><li>resin.<\/li><li>finally, vinyl.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among these, however, we must distinguish those that allow\nthe complete restoration of the existing floor and those that do not\nallow.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Typically, this is possible when no products are used\nfor gluing and therefore the underlying surface can be brought back to\noriginal conditions, once removed.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before choosing a stackable floor, however, there are <strong>some factors<\/strong> to consider:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>first of all, take into account the weight of the floor to be overlapped and the load-bearing capacity of the underlying floor;<\/li><li>even if of reduced thickness, the new floors may involve the need to slightly modify the existing doors;<\/li><li>finally, the existing floor must be in good condition, perfectly flat and level.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s now see a brief review of the most common stackable floors.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/unnamed-1.jpg\" alt=\"stackable-floors\" class=\"wp-image-1906\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pavimenti-sovrapponibili-in-ceramica-ultrasottile\">SUPER THIN CERAMIC STACKABLE FLOORS<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First of all, among ceramic materials, <strong>porcelain stoneware<\/strong> is a particularly resistant and durable type, as well as having a great aesthetic impact.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Normally, a porcelain stoneware tile can have\nuno spessore anche di 12 \u2013 14 mm, which can be a problem if used in\noverlap.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research and studies carried out in recent years\nled to the creation of tiles with a thickness of just 3 mm, including one\n0.5 mm glass fiber reinforcement layer, suitable instead for the purpose.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To proceed with the installation of a thin porcelain stoneware floor\non an existing floor, the following steps are followed:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>first of all, clean and properly prepare the surface to improve the grip;<\/li><li>apply a double layer of adhesive both on the surface and on the tiles, evenly and in the same direction, with a notched trowel;<\/li><li>rest the tile starting from the long side and make it adhere perfectly to the bottom;<\/li><li>also, apply pressure with small touches of a rubber spatula, to avoid the formation of bubbles and voids;<\/li><li>eliminate excess glue that comes out;<\/li><li>insert the spacers to create the escapes;<\/li><li>finally, fill the escapes with specific products.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pavimenti-sovrapponibili-in-resina\">STACKABLE RESIN FLOORS<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Resin floors<\/strong> are one of the trendiest choices right now. In fact, one of the main advantages of this material is the possibility of creating monolithic surfaces without continuity solutions, without therefore the typical joints typical of ceramic tiles.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the success of the resin is also linked to the possibility\nto allow you to create a new floor without having to resort to expensive\nand annoying removal of the existing one, thanks to its\nthickness of a few millimeters.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resin can be applied on any substrate,\ntherefore also an existing floor, provided it is properly prepared and\nleveled.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Particular attention should be paid only to any\npresence of moisture that can cause cracks and injuries.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cladding is laid in three steps, so as to\nlayer the dough and making the surface resistant and durable; then it comes\nleft to dry for the time necessary to solidify.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The three layers are made up of<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>fluid primer;<\/li><li>polyurethane resin;<\/li><li>finally, paint film.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pavimenti-sovrapponibili-vinilici-autoadesivi\">SELF-ADHESIVE VINYL STACKABLE FLOORS<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The use of <strong>adhesive vinyl flooring<\/strong> has recently extended to the residential sector, thanks to the aesthetic improvement of the product, due to the contribution of computer graphics.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, in fact, with<a href=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/en\/windows-frames-in-pvc-characteristic-and-advantages\/\">PVC<\/a> you can imitate any material, including marble and parquet, not only in appearance, but often also to the touch.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available in blades or tiles, it can also be easily applied in DIY mode thanks to the presence of double-sided adhesive strips.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The important thing is that the underlying floor is smooth and\nclean. If not, you need to level it and apply a\nfixative.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the advantages of vinyl floors is that they do not require the affixing of an underlying sound-absorbing mat because the material is already silent on foot walking.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pavimenti-sovrapponibili-con-posa-flottante\">STACKABLE FLOORS WITH FLOATING LAYING<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the solutions of stackable floors, those with\nfloating pose allow you to restore original floors\nlater.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, this type of installation allows to avoid\nthe use of glue or nails and, moreover, it is also possible in DIY.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among other things, in this way the floor can also be\ndismantled and put back in place elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The floating installation,\ntakes place using the interlocking system called male-female.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This technique can be adopted for:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>prefinished natural wood parquet;<\/li><li>laminates.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before laying, an <strong>insulating material mat<\/strong> must be placed on the floor, to be turned up along the walls, behind the baseboard, in order to:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>standardize the laying surface;<\/li><li>impedire la risalita di umidit\u00e0;<\/li><li>finally, limit the propagation of noises.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>mat<\/strong> can be made of various materials, such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>nylon;<\/li><li>bituminous sheath;<\/li><li>closed cell expanded polyethylene sheet\ndi circa 2 mm di spessore.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After placing the mat, you can proceed\nthe laying of the strips starting from a wall with the part of the joint called\nfemale.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Along the perimeter of the rooms it must always be left\na space of at least 10 mm, to be covered with the baseboard, to allow the\nmaterial to expand and contract naturally based on changes\nof temperature.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The floating floor remains stationary on the underlying one thanks to its weight.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/sovrapposizione_pavimento_parquet-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1934\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-metodi-di-posa\">LAYING METHODS<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To cover an old floor and create a new flooring, beautiful and welcoming, there are many solutions and materials. In recent decades, the market has gone increasingly towards these solutions, giving the cue for the birth of new stackable flooring. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The laying methods are basically two<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>with total and \/ or partial gluing;<\/li><li>resting with floating pose.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Glued floors or countertop floors are both\nvalid solutions, so deciding between the two becomes a subjective choice. In fact,\nbetter to decide first if\nyou prefer to glue the new floor\non top of the old one, or lay it down.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly the ones that are having the most success are support floors, especially in rented premises, where it often happens that the new one cannot be glued, because the property does not want it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another reason for the success of the support floors is that they are not binding, that is, they can be laid and replaced easily, changing the look.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/sovrapposizione_pavimento_laminato.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1914\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-vantaggi\">ADVANTAGES<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When compared with the demolition of the floor and the complete remaking of the screed, the stackable floors have some advantages: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>it is cheaper: it allows us to save the cost of demolition, the disposal of the resulting materials, and the construction of the new screed;<\/li><li>it is also faster: the time required to demolish and redo the screed and waiting for it to mature lengthen the construction time by at least 20\/25 days<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the face of these advantages there are some differences:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the construction of a new screed allows us to maintain the same level of the floor, without having to raise the internal doors, the armored doors and the French windows. The latter two are not always easy to raise to the new level of the overlapping tiling;<\/li><li>the construction of a new screed gives us greater guarantees on the bond strength. In fact, the adhesive clings perfectly on a screed while the adhesion on an old floor, although improved by adhesion promoters, does not reach the same adhesion levels.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-come-si-incollano-le-nuove-piastrelle-su-quelle-esistenti\">HOW CAN NEW TILES BE GLUED TO EXISTING TILES? <\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First you need to understand if it is possible to make the\noverlap. Because it is possible it is necessary that they are\nsome pre-conditions are met:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the old floor must be firm and well cohesive, there must be no detached tiles or that \u201csound empty\u201d;<\/li><li>in addition, the existing tiling must be planar so that no teeth or unevenness are created in the new flooring.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If these two preconditions are respected the\noverlap can be achieved. The methods of realization foresee:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>application of a primer on the existing surface\nwhich has the function of improving the adhesion of the glue on the old\ntiling;<\/li><li>bonding of new tiles possibly\nwith the double coating method and leveling wedges.<\/li><\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/pavimenti-sovrapponibili_NG2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1918\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-verifiche-da-fare-prima-della-sovrapposizione\">CHECKS TO BE MADE BEFORE THE OVERLAY<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision to proceed with gluing the floor\ninstead of demolishing the whole floor, as we have seen, it needs some\nchecks. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To check that the floor is firm and that it \u201cdoesn\u2019t sing empty\u201d, we recommend using a steel ball and bouncing it on the old tiles. If the ball bounces well and with a high-pitched noise, the tile is correctly glued.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If, on the other hand, the noise is dull and the rebound is low, then the tile must be detached and the space cut.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clearly if there are too many low-cut tiles on the surface to be paved, it is not appropriate to proceed with the overlap but the entire floor will have to be demolished and dismantled. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To check the flatness of the floor you can use a laser or, failing that, a two-meter pole to be positioned in all directions to discover any depressions or bumps. If the disparity is excessive, it will be necessary to remove the floor and redo the screed.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/set-in.jpg\" alt=\"stackable-floors\" class=\"wp-image-1922\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-quanto-costa-la-sovrapposizione-di-nuove-piastrelle\">HOW MUCH DOES THE OVERLAPPING OF NEW TILES COST?<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>prices<\/strong> of the stackable floors vary according to the material used, the square meters to be built, the finish, etc.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the costs of the various types of stackable floors\nare:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ceramic: the cost can vary from 20.00 to\n40,00 euro per square meter;<\/li><li>vinyl from 8.00 to 15.00 Euros per square meter;<\/li><li>laminate from 7,00 to 20,00 Euro per square meter;<\/li><li>self-adhesive vinyl from 15,00 to 20,00 Euro per\nsquare meter;<\/li><li>floating vinyl from 20,00 to 40,00 Euro per\nsquare meter.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The costs refer only to the price of the material, to\nwhom transport, handling and the necessary materials must be added\nfor laying, any preparation of the bottom and the total workforce.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the costs of concrete floors\nspatula and resin, it is not easy to establish a fairly reliable price\nsince various factors come into play, such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the square meters of intervention;<\/li><li>the type of cement or resin, if self-leveling;<\/li><li>the degree of finish;<\/li><li>any reconstruction of the substrate, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casaomnia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/11111.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1926\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lascia-un-commento\">LEAVE A COMMENT<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, if you need more detailed advice, send an email to<strong>valeriadesign@casaomnia.it<\/strong>, and we will solve all your worries whatsoever!
